YES! Vapor Wheels will be compatible with the most popular manual wheelchair brands on the market.

Vapor X Wheels have 2.15” of bearing spacing. In most cases, the axle receivers from your manufacturer will be 2”.

The bearing spacing at 2.15” plus the 2” axle receiver will give you a total of 4.15” ‘Grip Length’. In most cases a 4.25” axle will be the correct length. Remember, if you purchase a set of Vapor wheels, we will include the appropriate axle length at no additional charge to ensure a proper fit right off the bat and avoid frustration.

Axles come in a variety of lengths and in quarter inch increments. We can use or need an axle that is 4.25”, but that is only the length of the shaft. We can make adjustments to the axle using the 3/4” nut just under the axle and a 7/16” open ended wrench for the flat end under the detent balls. If we have a Vapor X hub with 2,15” of bearing spacing and a 2” axle receiver in the camber tube of the wheelchair, then our ‘Grip Length’ should amount to the sum of these 2 numbers, or 4.15”

The Vapor X wheel has a bead width of 23mm. You are able to use tires as narrow as 1” (25mm) and go up to 3.00”

Vapor Wheels offers rims with Schrader valve holes. The Schrader valve is the same as what we see on vehicles, so you can use any normal pump found at most bike shops and various gas stations.

Our wheels are badass and you will never have a problem with them. If you do, we will back you up and provide solid solutions to resolve any issues. In addition to owning some badass Vapor wheels, you can have confidence in the care and maintenance, because Vapor wheels are compatible with standard bike tools and stands to true the wheel.

At Vapor, we believe that even though your wheels are specialized for wheelchair use and designed by you, the parts are not proprietary to Vapor Wheels. You can have peace of mind that no matter where you are in the world, you can go to any bike shop for a tune up. You will never have to ‘special order’ anything, which also means that there is no waiting for parts or special tools.

At Vapor, we want you to be in control. We will customize the hub color to your liking at no additional charge. We will also offer a custom color hand rims for a completely unique look.

CARBON PRODUCT 3 YEAR WARRANTY

Vapor Wheels believes we offer the best Carbon Wheels available. We are offering a limited 3-year warranty on all carbon wheel sets sold after January 1, 2021.

The limited 3-year warranty applies to all Vapor Wheels branded complete carbon wheel sets. Under the limited warranty, Vapor Wheels certifies all wheels to be free from defects in materials and workmanship* and applies to the original owner.**

Vapor Wheels warrants to the original owner that this new wheel shall be free of defective materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of the original purchase (proof of purchase required) provided the wheel is operated under normal conditions and use. During this warranty period, Vapor Wheels shall repair or replace, at its sole option, all parts that are found by Vapor Wheels to be defective and subject to this Limited Warranty with this exception: Vapor Wheels will offer replacement parts on any wheels no longer in production / obsolete that otherwise fall within the time constraints of this warranty.

Vapor Wheels carbon wheel systems are engineered to be used every day and are designed and tested to ensure the strength of the wheels far exceed the loads incurred during their intended use. You can rest assured that if you have a Vapor Wheels Carbon wheel set, we have you covered.

*The warranty applies to all original owners who purchase their wheels from a Vapor Wheels Authorized Dealer or directly from Vapor Wheels; wheels purchased through third-party sites are excluded from the warranty.

**Keep in mind that wheels (as with most moving parts) require periodic maintenance and service. Bearings are considered a wear item and if properly serviced, should last several years, but are not covered under the limited warranty. Neither are defects, malfunctions or failures that result from the abuse, neglect, shocks or crashes, improper maintenance, alteration, modification, accident, or misuse (including without limitation, basketball, quad rugby, tennis or any similar sporting activities). Any wheel that has been altered, improperly maintained or installed, or modified from its original build will not be eligible for this warranty.

Normal & expected wear and tear issues will also not be accepted. Wear and tear is defined as damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal wear or aging. Contact Vapor Wheels for details.

ALLOY PRODUCT WARRANTY

We offer a two-year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship on all Vapor Wheels products. Vapor Wheels will repair or replace, at our discretion, any affected components or assemblies. The warranty will apply to stems, hub shells, axles, spokes, and rims.

The intended application of Vapor Wheels products are non-motorized, single user wheelchairs. Vapor Wheels will not be able to provide warranty support or assume liability for hubs or wheels that are utilized outside of their intended purpose. This warranty covers materials and workmanship but does not cover normal wear and tear, such as bearing wear, or damage due to lack of proper service intervals.

Spokes will be warranted against defects, but not extreme use accidents, mechanical failure, or foreign object intrusion.

Aluminum rims are covered under the two-year warranty but are not warrantied for impact or crash damage. Use of non-authorized aftermarket adaptors and/or modification of axles, hubs, spokes or any other component may result in a voided warranty. Modification of rim finish or graphics by use of stripping solvents or chemicals will void rim warranty.
